Design Research

I fell in love with design research in undergrad (so much that I took design methods twice and spent two semesters researching my thesis). I’ve been hooked ever since. Over time, I realized the real challenge was turning insights into action, which became my focus throughout my work at Stratos Innovation Group and Milwaukee Tool.

My process

The art of questioning comes in handy in every project, at every steps. At Milwaukee Tool, I own the Design Research portion of the project, guide Product Managers doing research, and mentor junior researchers in their approach. Some of my key responsibilities as a Senior Design Researcher include:

  • Scope complex research initiatives

  • Plan, Conduct, and Analyze Primary Research for

    • Understanding users foundationally

    • Identifying areas of opportunity for product development, both disruptive and incremental innovation

    • Identifying core user needs

  • Facilitate sessions to socialize and make insights actionable with respective stakeholders

Navigated ambiguity of the fuzzy-front-end of product development, by investigating users working from work vans and working with a cross-functional team to identify areas of opportunity to innovate in the space, and provide the right level of information for teams to quickly develop the right solution to enter the market.
